Overview
The simplicity of this ferry route makes it accessible with almost no effort from anybody.
Transport & Parking
We arrived in our motorhome, having bought a ticket but knowing that you can't book and you just have to turn up and wait your turn. There are no facilities at the port so if we hadn't been in the motorhome, this would have worried me but we have a toilet on board so I was happy. In reality though, this was the quickest experience I could have wished for! You literally drive up to the sliproad and wait in a queue. At Largs, we didn't even have to queue. We just drove up and straight on board. Coming back, we were early and had a short wait.
Access
In the sense that you don't have to get out of your vehicle, it is accessible for all. The crossing takes just 8 minutes, so it isn't really worth getting out. Having said that, if you want to, the only way up to the deck is via stairs. I just stayed put and by the time I'd checked in on Facebook, we were there.
Toilets
I believe there is an accessible toilet on the car deck but I didn't use it.
Staff
I have nothing but praise for Calmac staff. They are friendly, polite and basically aim to get you to your destination with the minimum of stress and fuss.
