Overview
Great Museum in an iconic place in the middle of Edinburgh's city centre with great views towards Princess Gardens. With Accessible main entrance, the whole museum is in the same level having a fair space in between walls and corridors making it easier for everybody to visit it. The museum also has Accessible toilets. Worth to be visited.
Transport & Parking
Parking isn't great for the Museum on the Mound, however limited metered parking is available in Market Street and St. Giles Street which is free to disabled badge holders. If you are coming by bus: The Museum is a 10 minute walk from the main bus station in St. Andrew's Square, and a 5 minute walk from Princes Street. Several local buses stop on the Mound itself. If you are coming by train: The Museum is a 5 minute walk from Waverley Station - follow the ramp up onto Waverley Bridge, then go up Market Street.
Access
Good disable access throughout the building and from the street. The Museum is reached via a paved walkway through the garden, and is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The reception space, shop and multi-purpose room are fitted with and induction loop.
Toilets
There is a Well-kept Accessible loo located beyond the gallery space.
Staff
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Marvellous experience in the oldest and first bank ever created in Scotland. Its story is closely interwoven with the social, political and economic development of Scotland itself.
