Overview

A fantastic museum to visit to learn about a art that is not well known about. Before you go you need to book a tour if you want to see the true story of the place where the museum is based and what a story. To do this you ring or book online visit http://www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/jewellery on this site on found the access statement and with me been in a wheelchair its a must for me to know if I can have a comfortable visit and this one was brilliant with great picture and details. There was only one place I could get in my Jazzy power chair that was Mr Tom's office. Tour & demonstrator guide Rupert was beyond brilliant.

Transport & Parking

I went by train into Birmingham Newstreet station Network railway assistants are some of the best for getting me on and off the train. I came out of station and then got tram from right outside station and this takes you straight to Jewelery Quarter and its about two minutes away from station. There are lifts to street level I am sorry do not know about car parking.

Staff

Very aware and clear speaking was Rupert's description of what went on in every part of the museum and some very good demonstrations of parts of the jewellery making process. Kept us all interested for a hour and bit about what went on and the history of Jewellery making from the beginning of the factory to present.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would recommend to anyone even if your think I would not be Interested as it is a learning curve. I would definitely go back.
