Overview
During a visit to the surgery at Muirhouse Avenue, I used the accessible toilet to the left, towards the nurses' treatment rooms. The red cord was tied up and had dust on it, so it had clearly been like that for some time.

The front desk is high. The environment is fairly noisy. By the time I'm wearing a mask, it's hard to verbally communicate with reception staff without getting the feeling I'm speaking loudly enough for all to hear. (One time, I just handed over a letter that said the very personal reason why I needed to make an appointment. I didn't trust that it would be sufficiently private to say verbally, and although I was lucky and happened to have an understanding staff member (a nurse, I think, going by the uniform), I was pretty nervous about getting one of the longer-employed reception staff who can sometimes come across as quite irritated and insensitive. I have previously witnessed reception staff being, let's just say, less than helpful with patients with little spoken English and with brown skin. There was a sticker on the front door stating 'please wear a mask', but no staff wore masks and only one other patient did when I was in today. No masks were available for people to use if they hadn't brought one with them.
