Overview
This is a Caravan and Motorhome Certificated Location. The site is split into two small areas, each with space for about 5 units. The pitches are gravel hardstanding. There are toilets and showers but not fully accessible ones but we didn't mind as we use our own. Lovely walks around the farm but nowhere to visit within walking distance.
Transport & Parking
We arrived in our motorhome, travelling westbound along the A75. The right turn into the site is not really safe, as it's towards the top of an overtaking section on a hill. If you continue though another 2km, there's a roundabout where you can turn around and then turn in left. The site itself is up a farm track. They could do with some signage to let people know where to check in.
Access
The site is all dirt tracks and gravel, so I could get around easily in my mountain trike but not my normal wheelchair. Each camping area is quite flat but there are hills if you go for walks in either direction. The fields have cattle (bulls, I think) in, which are quite wary of people but want to check you out too. Worth being aware of if you have an assistance dog.
Toilets
The toilet block has a ramp up but a little too steep and narrow for a wheelchair. It's probably okay for someone who walks with support though. There are no rails or anything in the toilets or showers. We were fine as we tend to use our own facilities. The elsan point wouldn't have been accessible for me, so my husband had to empty the toilet (shame!)
Staff
The staff were friendly and helpful but difficult to find. Reception is not signposted and we didn't really know where to go when we arrived.
