Overview
A delightful day awaits all that travels on ‘The Watercress Line’ we visited when Thomas the Tank Engine was visiting as well. Nothing was too much for the helpers at the railway stations we visited they put me and my family in a guards van while we traveled on the railway if I were able to walk from the guards van I could of left my mobility scooter there and had a table seat in the main carriages but I cannot do so,So we waited in the guards van which had plenty of seats for my family.
Transport & Parking
There is disabled parking in car park near to the first station and nearest for us which has a few disabled spaces and is operated by the local council.
Access
I had several people push my mobility scooter up the ramps they brought out for me to embark or disembark on as my scooter isn’t that powerful enough to climb the steep incline.
Toilets
There are disabled toilets in the stations but not on the trains due to their age. So it’s advisable to go before you embark the trains.
Staff
They were extremely helpful and friendly if I needed any help there was an number of helpers willing to help.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It is advisable to call before hand to check wether there is a guards van capable of having a ramp. And I was told I might not be able to use my mobility scooter so I brought along a travel wheelchair that was small enough to use almost anywhere but I didn’t need it.
