A warm and inclusive welcome

Overview
This is our local Italian and the service is consistently excellent. My son has Down's Syndrome and likes to pretend to take orders and sometimes serve the drinks to our table. The staff are warm and friendly and very relaxed towards him. Even when the place is busy they take the time to ask him about his day. They talk directly to him and are respectful. We had his 16th birthday there in February and they all sang to him. I have seen this welcome and warmth extended to other people so it is not about him being 'special' it feels it is about him being included.
Transport & Parking
There are disabled parking spaces in nearby streets but it is on the Dalry Rd and you can't park outside but can drop off.
Access
The main doors are standard size but with level access. However, there is not much turning space. The actual restaurant floor is well organised for moving around and staff are quick to assist if more spce is needed.
Toilets
There is a good sized accessible toilet - however, it is currently also used as a storage area. Again staff are quick to clear things out but this is not good enough as it requires the customer to signal they need the loo!
Staff
The staff (and the food) really make this place. Taking my son out for meals is an important part of our life as a family. He enjoys the social opportunities it provides. At Mia's all the staff - owner, waiters and kitchen staff make him feel welcome.
