Overview
As a student at Napier I use this library often and am comfortable in the space. Staff are very helpful and plenty of facilities available.
Transport & Parking
Buses stop nearby at Holy Corner - it is a few minutes stroll then to the campus of which the terrain is uneven and bumpy. One crossing can be dangerous at peak times so care is needed. Car parking available outside - metered and blue badge bays. From this the entrance is on the right hand side down two steps or a ramp.
Access
Two automatic doors to enter from outside - both are push pad entry. Out of orders a student card is needed. As of start of Jan 2020 the second automatic door is stuck and needs repaired - this should be asap. Wheelchair users can enter via the university entrance and go in this way (also level access and automatic doors). However after 9pm you will have to call security to let you in. The reception and Helpdesk has a lowered area. There is a mix of booths, desks and tables throughout. There is a long ramp that takes you from the Helpdesk area to the main library and then a lift where the books are at the back of the library. There is also height adjustable desks available in the main area and silent area.
Toilets
Near to the university entrance round a sharp corner. Accessed via swipe card or security card. If you don't have these right away and can, ask the Helpdesk and they have access. Room inside for a wheelchair user and assistant. The door locks by a touchpad mechanism and beeps when it is locked. There is handrails and a red cord on the left hand side. Space under the sink to roll under and mirror above sink.
Staff
Always helpful if you need help with finding books, carrying materials or with printing/scanning.
