Overview
Great access throughout the building as there are not only stairs to access both levels but there are also lifts and escalators at both ends of the shopping centre. There is a wide accessible walking space to get around between the shops.
Transport & Parking
There is plenty of disabled parking close to the doors of every entrance into the shopping centre enabling easy access for all, also there are drop off points next to the entrance to enable easy access.
Access
There is a level access into all the entrances of the shopping centre including access to the food court and all the shops. There is access available for assistance dogs. There are lifts available in major shops such as Marks and Spencers and there are also lifts at all ends of the shopping centre. For individuals who may be visually impaired it may be advised to go at a quiet time as there can be many obstacles in the way when it is busy. Also there are centre stalls in the middle of the walk ways so this may be a hazard.
Toilets
There are many toilets throughout the shopping centre, there are a set of toilets at each end including in the major shops with cafes such as BHS and Marks and Spencers.
Staff
There are several help desks throughout Meadowhall, where there are maps which can be provided. They also offer any other help which someone may require such as loaning a wheelchair or any assistance required. I found it was difficult to find these help points when first going to the shopping centre therefore it could take time.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There is plenty of seating throughout the centre which is very convenient if people need to rest whilst walking round as it is a large centre to walk around.
