Overview
Meadowbank is a local shopping park and one I find really good as wheelchair user. The shops are all fairly close together so no great distances to wheel for me.
Transport & Parking
I usually go to the shopping park using my WAV, wheelchair accessible vehicle, as I can't carry stuff and push myself. The car park has under gone a bit of a transformation with the closing of some shops and opening of new ones. With this year's opening of the new Lilly store the main car parking has had a bit of a makeover. A new disabled parking area has been created outside of the Lidle store and a helpful zebra crossing put in place to make getting to the new store easier. The other disabled parking area by Sainsburys has also had a dash of new paint which is good. There are buys stops up on the nearby main road if you come by bus.
Access
Disabled access around the outside areas of the park has been improved with clearer walkways and signage. Each store is responsible for its own disabled access and you ow have something of a destination with the Sainsbury's and the Lidle as the main focal points. Both of these have accessible toilet s too, which is great. Sainsburys have introduced the scan your receipt gates before you exit the self service areas. Not always easy for many disabled people but there are usually staff about who will help.
Toilets
The are disabled toilets in both Lidl and Sainsburys.
