Overview
Overall a great place to visit for a day out, despite the disabled toilets being poor. The staff are all generally excellent to deal with. I am only going to review the amusement arcade area and food court as we only visited after our visit to the play park in Strathclyde Park had to be cut short due to the weather.
Transport & Parking
Although there are several disabled parking bays outside the main entrance to M&D's there aren't enough of them also the ones that are there seem to be abused by people who don't actually need them.
Access
Access to the main enterance is good for disabled people however we felt that the access needs to be improved by providing handrails as well as better signage. M&D's do not seem to cater well for people with visual impairment as none of the signage is in Braille or offer any sort of audio assistance, the steps are not clearly marked.
Toilets
There are many accessible toilets throughout the park however, the food court toilet needs people to take care as my partner injured her right hip and thigh thanks to the grab rails being too close to the toilet. The grab rail is positioned only inches from the toilet and at near enough the same height. The grab rails also blend in with the walls so not appropriate for visually impaired customers. The emergency pull cord was coiled up on the toilet cistern as well so if you had a fall you were stuck.
Staff
It would have been 5 stars for the staff if the manager we spoke to about our concerns actually seemed interested and didn't make it look like we were making a big deal out of it. The first raiders were superb so hats off to them.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Make the toilets more disabled friendly, ensure pull cords are not tied up out the way.
