Overview
Terminal 2 has a modern and well-equipped Changing Places Toilet, which is a bit complicated to access but provides all the essentials.
Transport & Parking
The terminal is served by Manchester Airport Station, which provides bus, rail, and tram links to the airport. There are also dedicated long and short stay car parks at the airport in addition to valet parking.
Access
There's level access throughout the terminal, with clear signage to the facilities.
Toilets
The toilet was easy to find due to clear signage, and the huge glowing wheelchair user symbol on the wall. I also visited the Changing Places Toilet, which is located next to the Jet2 check-in, on the wall opposite the large glowing V. There's an unnecessary barrier to entry. Rather than requiring a RADAR key or featuring a buzzer, there's a phone outside of the toilet. You need to pick up the receiver, dial a number, wait for an answer, then ask to enter the toilet, at which point you're given a code to enter into a keypad on the door. The door opens outward and is locked from the inside by raising the handle. Overlooking the access issue, the toilet itself is fully equipped with just about everything one could need. There's a large adjustable changing bed with waterproof sheeting and a shower—however, the showerhead was on the floor under the bed. Grab rails have been installed on either side of the toilet and the large adjustable sink. A colostomy shelf has also been provided, and you'll find two portable privacy screens. There's a red emergency cord, which hung freely, located on the right of the toilet when seated. The terminal also features several standard accessible toilets, which are pretty spacious and easy to find if they are a suitable alternative. I would have rated this higher, if not for the convoluted access route.
