Overview
Madame Fromage in Castle Arcade, Cardiff is a specialist cheese shop and cafe. I can access it because I can walk short distances and manage steps but it is an absolute no-no for anyone who is wheelchair bound. It is in an arcade so I can leave my scooter outside without worrying about it getting wet on a rainy day. There are three steps up to the restaurant and the food is lovely. I love the music they play (swing) but there is no toilet. I don't know whether they actually have space to include a toilet and all the buildings in all the arcades in Cardiff are very narrow and old so probably exempt from laws which require them to be modified for accessibility. There are tables and chairs outside but I don't like sitting outside. The staff are lovely and so is the food.
Transport & Parking
I didn't drive. There is no parking. It's very near a bus stop if you can travel by bus.
Access
No signage. Steps to restaurant. No lift.
Toilets
No loo.
Staff
Can't fault them, just the building.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I probably won't go again as there are venues I like better in Cardiff City Centre but it's a lovely cafe.
