a narrowboat Holiday
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Assistance Dog, Wheelchair, Mobility Scooter
Overview
A beautiful Narrow Boat for disabled accessible holiday. Ramp access to the boat with Hydraulic Lift to assist disabled person or wheelchair to the topside to tiller or bunks and kitchen below. Accessible shower and toilet and one cubicle toilet. Electric wheelchairs can only be charged while boat is charging, so better if manual wheelchair. We took a scooter and electric wheelchair, and charged during day. Sleeps 8
Transport & Parking
You can park next to the Chalets to off load and then park in an adjacent carpark across the road
Access
Signs to Lyneal Wharf is at the end of the lane. There is a pathway for wheelchairs to the canal and warning signs are well sign posted. No T loop.
Toilets
Is in the shower room and difficult to put powerchair in, easy for manual wheelchair and doors open outwards . Toilet has a lid.
Staff
Volunteers met me and helped me transfer belongings to boat. Their handover to skip was clear and good. Very friwndly and saupportive
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Well recommended to go on a weeks holiday, there is also a dayboat for a days experience. Don't know about that. Chalets and cottages are nexr to Canal, didn't stay there but worth looking at. 14 beds avalalble. Wet room in 2 chalets. Cottage more difficult to get wheelchair (powerchair) in so use chalets. Single beds no hoist tracks better for those who can transfer. Wahing machine and dryer in games room
