Overview
I visited Heuston Tram Stop which is on the Red Line. Dublin trams are known as LUAS. There are two lines, Red and Green. They offer step free travel around central Dublin.
Transport & Parking
Heuston Tram Stop is directly outside of Heuston Railway Station and there are some buses that also stop outside of the station including the airport bus. This is an excellent step free public transport interchange.
Access
Modern tram line with accessible, step free stops. Two platforms with some seating. No entrance or exit gates. Ticket machines on platform. Only issue was as a tourist the lack of maps to work out where you are going. Also information boards telling you time for next trams and their destination but no information about where it is stopping along route. If you are not going to the end of the line it is difficult to work out if you are on the right platform.
Toilets
None at the tram stop, but a Changing Places toilet is in Heuston Railway Station which is adjacent.
Staff
Did not see any staff the entire time I used the tram line.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Please include some more information at your tram stops to aid visitors, such as tram maps and local area maps. This is a quick and reliable way to get round central Dublin, with trams coming frequently. Highly recommend it.
