This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Powerchair
Overview
This place is beautiful with lots of plants and trees as well as great views of the sea. There are lots of paths everywhere with good wheelchair access, however, some are a little steep. The zigzag path going up the cliff is particularly steep which may be challenging for manual chair users but in my powerchair it was not too bad.
Transport & Parking
There is a car park on-site but it wasn't clear where the disabled parking was so we had to pay for the parking, which seemed a bit expensive.
Access
Disabled access was great with smooth paths in most places going throughout the site and down to the side of the beach and along the seafront. Some paths were a little bit steep in places which may pose a challenge for manual chair users. The zigzag path which goes up providing access to Folkestone town centre was particularly steep. But it's worth it because you can get some beautiful views from up there. There are a number of places to rest as you go up in grottos built into the cliff. A concrete walkway runs out across the beach curving towards the rocks. It allows wheelchair users to get as close to beach as it can without having to actually go onto it. It's a shingle beach so some of these stones were across the path which made it a little bumpy.
Toilets
I didn't use the toilets here so I can't really comment on them
Staff
I didn't encounter any staff
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The area was all outside so I felt pretty safe. There was a cafe area were quite a lot of people were queueing for ice cream which I steered clear of. They seem to be too many people in the enclosed area.
