Overview

I attended a concert here and I think the venue was excellent from reception at the tube station to dropping us back there. The access was fantastic and made the whole experience really enjoyable.

Transport & Parking

Stratford is an accessible station and there are people in bright pink t shirts greeting you when you arrive. They direct you to the accessibility transport to the venue. We weee told where to come after the concert to be returned to the station. The people operating the minibuses were lovely and made the journey easy. I’ve never started a concert so easily. You are dropped next to an accessible entrance so really easy to use public transport.

Access

Excellent access to seats and viewing platforms. The venue are able to accommodate some last minute changes if these are necessary. The area is very flat and easy to walk/wheel on. The fact that there was a queue of wheelchair and mobility impaired for the disabled loos means they are definitely being used, but may need some more accessible loos.

Toilets

The loo was fine, plenty of room and clean enough. However there were really long queues of disabled people at peak times which may mean they need to have a few more. I liked that they use the radar key scheme. The toilets were not abused here either which was great.

Staff

Excellent welcome. Although as someone with mobility aids I cannot carry anything and therefore had issues with the size of my backpack (just usual sized). They wanted me to carry my jumper and then the bag folded whilst using two crutches, which is obviously not possible. Otherwise all the staff we saw and spoke to were really helpful and could provide clear information about distances and numbers of steps etc.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The overall experience was excellent. I understand they need to have a bag policy, but when you are unable to carry anything they could be more lenient. However generally the staff were excellent, the transport to and from the station is excellent and so helpful as I would not have been able to walk to or from the station. I loved the venue and would definitely come again.
