Overview

The London Palladium is a beautiful venue and has a lot of wheelchair spaces and seats for users who can transfer which is great since it does have some excellent productions. However, access to the stalls is via lift (one at a time) and there is just on wheelchair accessible toilet for 10 plus users. Staff were unhelpful which is rare at a London theatre venue. After being shown to out seats/space we were told staff would help with drinks etc and no one came to see us before the show or during the interval. It was a scrum during the interval to reach or use the one very dirty toilet.

Transport & Parking

I travelled by tube from London Bridge to Green Park Tube station which is a fully wheelchair accessible. You can also arrive via Bond Street tube which is also wheelchair accessible and less than 10 minutes walk/wheel from the theatre.

Access

There is level entry to the theatre and a lift down to the stalls. The lift is small and can take just one wheelchair at a time but is used by 8 plus wheelchair patrons plus anyone with limited mobility,

Toilets

There is just one wheelchair accessible toilet for 8 plus wheelchair users plus patrons with walking difficulties. The toilet was dirty prior to the performance and during the interval.

Staff

On arrival they were helpful and we were shown to the level entry side door and queued to use the lift down to the stalls. Once we were shown to out seats no more staff appeared to offer assistance even though we were told they would.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Its excellent that the London Palladium has so many wheelchair spaces but it is let down by access (small lift) and toilet facilities. It was a scrum to reach the toilet and even to get out and the toilet had clearly not been cleaned between performances. Shame about the staff as at most theatres the staff are extra helpful and make the experience even more enjoyable !
