Overview
A family friendly pub/restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating areas and a children's play area situated by the Chesterfield canal. Reasonably priced food which includes a daily carvery. Dog friendly garden area.
Transport & Parking
The pub has a large car park with several disabled parking spaces clearly marked. It is situated just off the A57 on Sandy Lane, Worksop and alongside the Chesterfield Canal.
Access
There is a flat entrance to the garden area and step free entrance into the pub. I only went inside the venue to use the toilet so this review is mainly about the outside area. However the inside restaurant area looks reasonably spacious and accessible.
Toilets
The disabled toilet is just inside the entrance. It has a fixed grab rail and pull down rail to the toilet and a fixed rail by the sink. Although it's quite small it was just about adequate space for wheelchair users with a carer if needed.
Staff
Staff have been friendly on several visits we have made. They make sure any dogs that visit have plenty of water available.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I have visited several times to the garden area because of the space and shaded areas which are good if you don't want to sit in full sun and for the dogs. Although you can hear the traffic from the main road there is the benefit of access to the tow path of the canal from the pub garden.
