Overview
7th Edinburgh North East Cub pack visited the outside of the Library to learn about the challenges a disabled person would face when visiting a building. This was part of their Disability Awareness badge. The Cubs noted done the things that had been done to improve the accessibility of the building.
Transport & Parking
We walked to the library but there are bus routes nearby.
Access
The Cubs noted: - There was a ramp into the building - There were automatic doors wide enough for a wheelchair user - The traffic lights outside made a beeping noise - There was a handle up the steps - Guide dogs are allowed - The kerb is flat at the nearest crossing
Toilets
We didn’t go inside but we will check next time we are there.
