Overview
Hotel in Grangemouth with a bar and restaurant serving good food. I wasn't staying in the hotel, but as a local, we decided to go for a family birthday dinner as we hadn't been in around 15 years. There are accessible toilet facilities in the restaurant.
Transport & Parking
There is a carpark on the hotel grounds with accessible bays. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel that runs along Bo'ness Road.
Access
There are a few entrances depending if you want to enter the hotel or the restaurant. I believe all entrances have a ramp though. The restaurant and hotel entrances definitely have ramp access. Once inside the restaurant, we were greeted by the waitress who took us to our table, which was immediately to the side of the door. It was a cold night so we asked if we could sit someone else away from the door, but there are only a few tables on the lower section which are located near to the door. It wasn't a problem though as they already had heaters positioned next to our table. There are many more tables on the upper level with is accessed via a few steps. Where we were sitting inside the restaurant was quite spacious and we were next to the bar. There was also a large TV at the side of the bar, so I reckon it could be watched from anywhere in the restaurant.
Toilets
There was an accessible toilet, although I didn't use it during my visit. I got a family member to take some photos for me. The toilet seemed to be a good size despite its unusual shape. There were grab rails next to the toilet and sink. The toilet roll was within reach and the mirror above the sink was at a good height, but there was no emergency pull cord.
Staff
The staff were helpful and very accommodating to our dietary requirements.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would probably visit again, but it would be nice if there were more vegan options on the menu rather than having the chef try to make something with the ingredients he has available at the time. I would recommend booking in advance and letting them know if you are a wheelchair user, otherwise, you might not get a table on the lower level.
