Overview
The grounds are extensive and enjoy a beautiful setting with magnificent views of the Forth coast. There is an accessible toilet but the path to get there can be a challenge.
Transport & Parking
There is a small car park at the gate but no dedicated blue badge parking. Cars were parked on the grass verge of the drive. It is a few hundred yards to the castle but as this is not accessible I guess you would mainly come here to enjoy the grounds, thus take the trek in your stride.
Access
What you might expect of an historic estate. Established long before disabled access was considered. I do think that with a creative approach Edinburgh City Council could improve the experience for people who use mobility aids. There is a cafe with ample seating outside and sun shades but when I visited it was not good weather for me to sit outside. Indoor seating has steps to access.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet in the grounds. It meets basic requirements for space and does have decent contrast for people with vision impairments. There are all required toilet rails but it does double as baby change.

Anything else you wish to tell us?
Go to enjoy the outdoors. Many chairs and scooters will manage the grounds ok.
