Overview
The accessibility changing area is currently inaccessible due to it being cluttered with display furniture and the red cord is tightly tied up, out of reach if you fall, by staff on the advice of health and safety.
Transport & Parking
There are disabled bays close by and if you are there at quiet times are often free. There is a 37 bus that goes close by but using this will depend on your mobility
Access
Level access. Automatic doors
Toilets
Staff
I had a poor customer experience, when faced with difficulties in the changing room the assistant, didn't wait to see I needed more help, she didn't come back to check on me and to be honest I felt as if I was being a nuisance for asking for access. The manager did take a note of my disability complaints, however didn't follow through with checking if I needed anything else, or any more help. I really felt there was a lack of disability awareness among the staff and wonder about staff training on disability.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
My main area of concerns were the accessibility changing room, was cluttered up with an armchair, foot stool, free standing lamp and upright chair making the space impossible for wheelchair users and extremely difficult for everyone else. The red cord had been deliberately tied tightly up out of reach, by health and safety. I couldn't get access to either the perching chair to enable me to change safely nor the grab rails. Plus when I handed over a red cord card, it appeared out with the duty manager power to sort this safety issue out. And staff having been alerted to my restrictions didn't look after me , nobody checked if I needed help. I also tried to look at wall paper to the back of the shop, but was unable to gain access as there were lots of boxes with goods on sale blocking my way. And even when I pointed this out, not one member of staff asked if there was anything they could do, or get me. It was a very frustrating and poor experience, one which doesn't encourage me back.
