Overview
If you are in a wheelchair but still want the enjoyment of being on top of the world Latrigg fell is the place to be offering amazing views over the Northern Lake District fells. This is one of the many 'Miles without Stiles' routes created by the National Park Authority. There are currently 48 routes across the National Park recognised for the benefit of wheelchair users, families with pushchairs and the visually impaired. https://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/things-to-do/walking/mileswithoutstiles/mws38 Please note this is one of the more challenging trails - Better suited for an off road chair or freedom wheel. Extra man power (and even a couple of ropes) to help push are useful. Also check out Freedom Wizard who have equipment and support the ability to support a trip like this. Wheelyaccessiblelakes is a blog coming soon that will build on these reviews and will include video of the descent from Latrigg to Derwentwater.
