Overview
We were on holiday & spent 2 nights at this amazing Lodge. The accessible room is on the ground floor, is large with plenty of room for a wheelchair to move around easily. There is a large wet room with a roll-in shower. There were adequate grab rails at the toilet & there was a seat in the shower. We were able to go to the bar area via a short path from our room to the bar. Breakfast was served in the dining room which was accessible on the ground floor.
Transport & Parking
This Lodge wasn’t in Lochmaddy but that is the nearest village. It is not far away & is day to find & we’ll sign posted. It is on single track road, don’t be alarmed it is well worth the narrow road there. There were chips on the car parking area but my husband took the car into the front door on the level stone slabs so it was easy to transfer & move into my wheelchair.
Access
No steps to get into Lodge. No need for a lift, room & dining area on the ground floor. Everything we’ll sign posted & staff could answer any questions.
Toilets
Easy to find accessible toilet, small, in the older piece of the Lodge, but I managed in my wheelchair no problem. Grab rails adequate. The public toilet was smaller but in the room it was large.
Staff
Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble and would definitely do anything in their power to help & make things possible.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Langass Lodge, would highly recommend a stay there. The food was excellent too, with lots of local seafood on the menu. Also Stornoway Black Pudding on the menu for breakfast 😀
