As accessible as possible!

Overview
Wonderful historic building that was as accessible as you would expect given the age.
Transport & Parking
Disabled parking available outside, with additional parking less than one minute away.
Access
As expected the building is not fully accessible, but we felt that everyone had done as much as they could to make it as accessible as possible. Corridors in the building had wooden planks which made it easier for walking and wheelchairs. Some rooms had a small step which meant we would have found it difficult to access, but we could see everything we wanted from the door. The upper level was accessed by steep steps and once up their access was impeded by further steps or steep slopes. Back on the ground some paths were stone and some areas covered in grass which would have been difficult in the wet but this is clearly explained when you enter. The cost was £7 with a free carers ticket and we felt this was appropriate given we could not see all areas.
Toilets
A large portaloo which we managed, but I am not sure everyone would be able to.
Staff
Absolutely outstanding - polite, friendly and helpful. My only complaint is it would have been helpful to have staff around the site not just at the entrance to help with access questions.
