Overview
Welcomed by staff at the door, in a helpful but non-pressurising way. Sanitiser at the door but no pressure to use. Disabled parking close to the automatic door. Plenty of space around the displays for a wheelchair. A brilliant feature was spotless accessible toilets on both floors. Tills low enough for a wheelchair buyer, Cafe upstairs accessed via lift, booths were screened. An LED display downstairs showed how many people were waiting, making it easy to time when to eat. Table service was excellent, and the food was also excellent. My husband said it was the best cooked breakfast he had ever had. I had a cheese scone and a side of sweet potato fries, which were delicious. The tea was leaf tea and the coffee fresh ground in a cafetiere. I asked for a glass of tap water, and it included ice - a nice touch. The staff in both cafe and shop went out of their way to be helpful. The whole visit was pleasurable and anxiety-free. It was good to see other wheelchair and crutch users there. It is close to the station and a supermarket. Automatic doors made entry and exit easy.
Transport & Parking
Access
Level entry from the disabled parking, no troubling slopes or potholes. No seating for a rest but possible to take the lift up to the cafe and get a coffee etc when tired.
Toilets
Very easy to find, in the same position on both floors, Plenty of room to manoeuvre, and good placement of grab rails and drop down bar. Spotlessly clean. Space for carer. I did not see a changing places toilet.
Staff
Incredibly helpful and really seemed to care.
