Overview
For our group of people living with dementia a great place for some lunch in their lovely tearoom and an afternoon of looking at their beautiful birds. The owners were so helpful and friendly and the tearoom was very cosy with its warming fireplace and delicious food. The only downside was that it was slightly cold on the field were the flying demonstration was but we just heading back to the tearoom to warm up again. All and all a great place to go for some lunch and an afternoon, not really enough to do for the whole day though!
Transport & Parking
Parking is right outside the centre and just a short walk to the tearoom. We got a space easily enough.
Access
For our group it was great as we didn't have any wheelchair users. It is a decent walk from the tearoom to the field where they have the flying demonstrations
Toilets
The toilets were quite small so not ideal if you wanted a wheelchair and a carer in there but we did manage.
Staff
The staff couldn't have been more helpful! The lady in the tearoom, who runs the centre with her husband was incredibly helpful and considerate of our groups needs. She even gave us some tips for the rest of our stay in the Lake District.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
If the weather isn't great then we would recommend just visiting the tearoom (which is lovely and worth a visit itself), as the field is quite exposed for the flying demonstration and it can get quite cold.
