Overview
Lake Garda is an excellent area for wheelchair users. Most of the towns by the lake have extensive level access beside the lake, and their are many accessible restaurants and shops. The ferries are easy to use, and people are generally very helpful and considerate.
Transport & Parking
We were in our own car and used disabled parking spaces with my blue badge. These were generally easy to find, but not numerous. We also used the ferries on the lake; these were able to take my powerchair, and had lifts to get access to all levels.
Access
Generally disabled access in the area was easy, plenty of ramps onto pavements and good access to most buildings. Restaurants were very accommodating and made space for my powerchair at tables when needed.
Toilets
There were generally plenty of accessible loos, of varying standards. Most were usable but generally of a slightly lower standard than expected in the UK.
Staff
Staff in restaurants, shops etc were generally very helpful and rarely needed asking for help.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We visited a number of museums and ancient monuments - these were generally 90% accessible, with ramped access and lifts. Additionally many of these were free to wheelchair users and carers. We had great difficulty in finding suitable accommodation. There are modern hotels with accessible facilities, but older and more charming places are hard to find. We stayed at Villa Arcadio in Salo. The hotel is a beautiful old convent situated in an olive grove and gardens. The hotel and restaurant are top class and easily accessible if you have your own car; the room was not adapted in any way, although we managed to use it OK with the help of portable stools, loo frames etc.

Hi - the location I entered for this review was Salo rather than Limone, as shown. We didn't actually visit Limone although its characteristics may well be similar
