Overview
La Goccia is part of the Petersham Nursery group which has two restaurants and a bar located together in Covent Garden. You access the restaurant through a courtyard and entry to the restaurant itself is flat which is very unusual for Covent Garden. We went for Sunday lunch in December so the restaurant was busy but the staff kindly swopped our table to a more suitable one which allowed me to get my knees under the table (lifting the better table to a more spacious location for my wheelchair). The disabled loo was on the ground floor which is again quite unusual for Covent Garden. The loo was messy (see photo) as there were no hand towels but clean and it was tucked into the corner so other people were not aware of its location so it was free whenever I wanted to use it. Staff were very friendly and our waiter even bought us 4 different wines to try before we ordered. Very relaxed atmosphere for a pre theatre meal.
Transport & Parking
In a wheelchair London public transport or parking are not great so I went by taxi from Waterloo and I was kindly pushed back to Waterloo later.
Access
Access very good. What I particularly liked about the restaurant were the opening words on its website description "A vibrant, accessible restaurant" which indicates they had though through the importance of access. I phoned to confirm the access for wheelchair and the disabled toilet and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Toilets
Only 3 stars as it was a little messy !
Staff
Really friendly and could not have been more helpful but also relaxed and made me feel at ease.
