Overview

We booked this hotel for a nice spa break in the city of Inverness, from the outside. The building doesn’t look grand however, upon entering the facility it is in nice grand hotel. We were accommodated in the annex, this is situated on the other side of the car park and it is also where the spa is situated. We were given a disabled access suite which was large with ample wardrobes and storage. The room had a refrigerator And minibar/snacks available in your room which was a nice touch. The room had two bathrooms, one full size bathroom with bath and walk-in shower and another with a wet room with shower chair. That was a large area, for sitting with the small table. The king size bed was comfortable, and the room was 90% perfect. The only downside was that the bed wasn’t lowered. Therefore I struggled to transfer out of my chair as it was quite a jump onto the level of the bed. This may be on me however I have come across the accessible rooms in other hotels, have the lowered bed to make getting in and out easy.

Transport & Parking

4.5

There are several disabled parking spaces available right outside the door of the hotel. Each one giving you ample space on either side of the vehicle.

Access

4.5

The main hotel and annex has level access to enter the bar and restaurant, there is some steps into a part of the dining room, but if you would like to sit down there, there is a ramp available that the staff are only too happy to place out.

Toilets

4.5

The Bathrooms are accessible and large, plenty of space to turn round and easy opening and closing of the door due to a rail fitted on the inside of the door. Not something you see everywhere, so a big thumbs up from me.

Staff

5

The staff are very accommodating and nothing is too much for them, any request was handled swiftly and I could not fault them one piece. The staff definitely made the state a lot better

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Overall, this hotel is 90% perfect for the disabled traveller, as others have mentioned the lack of storage space in the bathroom for things like your toothbrush and wash kit is an issue bot we can live with that the height of the bed were the only things I would change to make this location perfect for the wheelchair dependent traveller.

Photos

The entrance to the hotel has sliding doors so easy access. The check in desk within the hotel. The scene upon entering the hotel. The pool and gym reception. The sink in the accessible bathroom. The shower and chair in the accessible bathroom.
