Overview

Located in the Old Aberdeen Town House, formerly a prison, council chamber, library & masonic lodge, the museum gives students at Aberdeen University the opportunity to create and curate temporary exhibitions. The one we saw brought to life Lewis Grassic Gibbon's novel "Sunset Song" with exhibits illustrating rural life in north east Scotland before, during & after World War One.

Transport & Parking

4.5

Can't comment on the parking. Bus no. 20 from the city centre gets you very close - see review of St Machar's Cathedral for details.

Access

5

A single door which stays open when opened admits you to the entrance hall. There is level access from there to the two exhibition rooms and to the accessible loo. The upper floors of the building are not open to the public & not wheelchair accessible.

Toilets

4

A smallish but well-equipped accessible loo can be found through the archway which leads to the stairs.
