Overview

Access in to the station and around the concourse is generally good. It can be difficult to work out where you want to go but the signposts are fairly good.

Transport & Parking

A busy London station with links to the underground, local taxis and buses. Best to check on the accessibility of your chosen method of transport. Buses are accessible as are most taxis.

Access

Disabled access is fairly good. Sometimes let down by the staff not being particularly helpful.

Toilets

Despite having modern and accessible toilets, as well as a Changing Places Toilet the access was spoilt by the need to ring a bell to get through the wheelchair gate. Despite waiting several minutes and ringing several times no attendant responded to open the gate. Fellow travellers opened the gate and even then it was not straightforward as all the accessible toilets were kept locked by default. Resulted in having to use the standard toilets and disembark from power chair.

Staff

Staff attendance at the toilets was poor. When reporting to the information desk as advised for assistance to board the train the service was poor. Simply told to make my way to the platform and someone would come and assist. Went to platform, nobody appeared and again fellow travellers helped by going and getting help. Help to board was grudgingly provided.

Don't travel unaccompanied through King's Cross station and if you do be prepared to be assertive!
