Overview
Good firm path with a few ups and downs. Good car park with excellent facilities
Transport & Parking
The good thing about the disabled parking is it's right outside the excellent assisted loo. However it's at the end of the car park furthest from the start of the trails and there's only two spaces. However there was plenty of room in the car park and it was quite level (though a slope down from the loos to the main car park).
Access
The trail is a good firm surface - compacted earth for the main part with light gravel. We left the main path to follow a decent -looking path to the Wave Chamber - don't bother as it quickly deteriorates and becomes impassable on wheels. The first mile or so of the trail from Hawkhope undulates fairly gently. However after that there are some steeper sections (see photos) where I needed an extra push. Didn't see many if any seats.
Toilets
The one in the car park is well equipped and clean. It was not locked.
Staff
Not staffed.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
You will need wheels capable of outdoor work to tackle this but it's worth the effort. The views across the lake are great. Beware if cyclists when the weather is fine as this is a popular cycling route.
