Overview
So much to see we couldn’t see it all in a day. Loads of accessible paths for wheelchair users, accessible toilets , cafes, restaurants and plenty to keep the kids interested. You need to present proof of PIP (!) to get in for £2 , which is a massive discount (so worth doing) but a bit of a weird thing to ask for. Hopefully if you read this you will bring yours!
Transport & Parking
We got a disabled parking spot literally right outside the gate but there were only a couple and we got lucky, I’m not sure where you Wd park if you didn’t get these spots. The public transportation is pretty good around here.
Access
Excellent access and level smooth paths the majority of the time. We followed the map . The signs for access into the glass houses were rubbish, we ended up going round and round and guessing the way in, they could really work on this, it wd really save energy not to have to go up and down looking for the way in, so lost a star there. But easy ramps lifts etc once we found the way
Toilets
I didn’t see changing places which is a shame for such a big place so lost a star on that but other toilets were all good.
Staff
Staff friendly round the gardens but the one waiter in the posh restaurant by the lake could have done with seriously smiling.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We found the glass houses lovely, you can bring a picnic I think, we are at the rest overlooking the lake and the glass house and it was beautiful but as you might have guessed pretty expensive. A lovely experience though and a really pretty restaurant with pretty good food ( the staff we had were stoic and a bit miserable tho) .
