Overview
A pleasant and delightful dining experience while watching the evening racing at Kempton. Although we do not gamble at all, we have found that this arrangement of Hospitality is ideal for a disabled person, as it means we are provided with a table in the restaurant right by the windows, ( we always ask for a window seat when we book ) which means we can see the horses themselves with excellent views over the race tracks, and they provide such lovely 3 or 4 course meals included in the price of our ticket. Here at Kempton the menu was simple but well prepared and presented, and very tasty. The menu reflected the excellent value of entrance ticket and meal cost, and being an evening race meeting in September, there where not many people at the track, ideal for us as disabled people, so we really enjoyed the experience. It’s a relaxing day out this way, with the benefit that if you are like us, none gamblers, you can still enjoy the excitement of a race day. If you personally fancied having a little bet, then staff come around on every race for you to lay a bet at your own table. Being a small round flat course, you are able to see almost all the way round the track, or watch it on the large track screen, or tvs in the restaurant. ==================================================================== Our last photograph shows you other racetracks we have visited and reviewed, so if this sounds as something you may enjoy then do read the reviews we have given on Euans Guide.
Transport & Parking
Kempton Park is situated in a busy part of the outskirts of London, but being an evening meeting, we found it very easy to get there. We entered the race course by facing the stands as arriving at the parking bays, but we suggest that in the car park, you drive on past the stands to go around the corner to the large car park at the far end of the stands. Here is the main entrance for the track, so parking this end will save a lot of trouble by not having to ride your wheelchair or scooter to far. Staff are on hand to help, but we didn’t find them to willing, and had to ask for support. However, the staff at the hospitality suite were very kind and helpful.
Access
It’s a bit of a push from car park to the hospitality dining suite, but it’s all on the level, so no bother. You would get rather wet though if it’s raining on your visit. There is a handy lift and quite a good size which almost all kinds of chairs and scooters could use. Once up on floor level for the restaurant it’s nice and level with a push pull door to get through, but generally this will already be open, but at least staff are there to help you. This is a three tier floor restaurant, the best views are down the quite steep steps by the windows, and ok if you can cope with steps. If you cannot do so, then MAKE SURE WHEN BOOKING TO LET THEM KNOW YOU NEED A TABLE ON THE TOP FLIGHT. you still get a lovely view of the racing from this level. Flat screen TVs are situated around the restaurant as well, so at least you can see the race.
Toilets
Toilets are basic, but clean and well maintained. A wheelchair can cope easily and small scooters can turn in the cubicle.
Staff
The staff on the race course are local hard working people, not as helpful or jolly as at other tracts, but they will help when asked. However, the staff at the hospitality restaurant were excellent, very willing and helpful, they really did want to make the evening enjoyable for us.
