Disappointing

Overview
Requested walk in shower as am unable to climb in/out of bath. None in the hotel but “wheelchair accessible” room allocated. Hotel offered to book us into another hotel “who could better cater for my needs”. As this was a family meet up involving 8 people/ 4 rooms this was not appropriate for this visit. Asked about Blue Badge parking reservations and told this could not be done, dispite reviews on TripAdvisor saying they could. Room had wide door but no automatic opener, was very spacious and comfortable but the “wheelchair accessible bathroom” was just that - accessible but no rails by the toilet, the sink, soap dispenser and razor plug were all at normal height. There was one rail on the wall on the opposite wall but no grab rails to assist getting in/out of the bath. There was no bath seat nor was a none slip bath mat provided.
Transport & Parking
Hotel car park which was multi storey. We were unablele to book a disabled parking space.
Access
Ramps from car park, lift to reception - access to reception desk up 3/4 steps with hand rails but no wheelchair access. Accessible check in desk opposite reception - not manned but contact made by phone.
Toilets
There is one wider cubicle but access via manual doors.
Staff
Staff very pleasant but need further training re accessible rooms allocation and accessible check in desk.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Tried to bring up my issues with a number of people but explanation of why they have no wet rooms etc is explained by the fact that “it is an older building”. I felt very disappointed by my experience as I was unable to shower as I can’t stand long enough to climb into a bath, then stand in an over bath shower.
