Overview
Small public park with lawn, trees, shrubs and seating. Nice spot to walk round or take a seat. There is also a children's play area. Best know for being the location of Joseph Grimaldi's (the clown) grave. There are no toilets or cafe in this park.
Transport & Parking
The nearest tube stations are King's Cross, which is step free, and Angel, which has escalators only. The park is located on Pentonville Road. Approaching from King's Cross you are going up hill and from Angel Islington you are going downhill. There are buses that go along Pentonville Road, numbers 30, 73, 205, 214 and 476 (2020). From outside King's Cross Railway Station it is two bus stops to Penton Rise and when you alight the bus, you are on the right side of the street for the park. It is a minute or two away and if you look up the hill you will see the park.
Access
There are quite heavy iron gates into the park, which are usually already open. One of the gates was padlocked, unfortunately this was the nearest one to the bus stop, so I had to walk further to the next entrance. On the narrower sides of the park is on a noticable but not steep slope. However length wise the paths are mostly flat. There are gravel paths which were slightly hard work with my crutch but wouldn't put me off visiting again. There are different types of benching including some with arms at the ends. At the opposite end of the park from Pentonville Road there is a children's play park, which I didn't visit.
Toilets
There are no public toilets in the park. However, there are accessible toilets including a Changing Places toilet in King's Cross Railway Station. The station is a 5 - 10 minute walk away.
Staff
I didn't see any staff when I visited.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This is a small public park which is usually frequented by local people. When I visited although it was a nice, sunny day there wasn't many people about. There are a couple of notices at the gates reminding people of the park safe rules. This includes a phone number to ring if you have concerns about social distancing.
