Overview

This restaurant has great food choices which are seasonal and fresh. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. They do a range of cocktails, coffee's, tea's and soft drinks. There is a wheelchair accessible door which is hard to open but the staff are quick to help if someone were to be on their own and in a wheelchair. The staff are so kind, warm and the owner is always so friendly and approachable.

Transport & Parking

There is no specific disabled parking at the restaurant as it is in the town on New Market Street. It is 2 shops away from the bus stops at Asda in the town centre so easily accessible from public transport. Taxi rank is also just 1 street away (restaurant is visible from here) so could get close to the restaurant by taxi. If driving or being driven, then there is parking within Asda across the road or in the Howgate shopping centre 3 minutes away.

Access

I feel the disabled access could be improved as it is not obvious at first as it looks like a fire door and is harder to open than the other entrance. The main entrance has a large step to get in and a narrow door.

Toilets

The accessible loo is on the main restaurant floor at the back of the restaurant and is clearly sign posted and accessible for a wheelchair or mobility aid. The staff are also helpful and could explain where the bathroom is if anyone was struggling.

Staff

I can not praise the staff enough in this restaurant, although they are mostly young and very busy, they always take the time to ensure you have everything you need. There is a fab young man who I think is the front of house supervisor (or similar) and he is so kind and attentive. He is always cheerful and helpful. I have also found the owner, who works a lot, to be approachable and always willing to discuss the menu or any enquiries you have about the bar or food.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I feel this restaurant would be good at any time of the day or night. They also have special offers on certain afternoons and evenings which are a great budget option. There could be a little bit of movement in the seating options for those who need a little extra room but I believe that they would be willing to work with any advice. It can get very busy at the weekend in the late evening so may be harder for wheelchairs and mobility aids.
