Overview

Wheeling in the main entrance the store has wide aisles and is easy to wheel around. Spacious lifts, accessible loos and more make it a great place to visit. The staff are extremely helpful and add to making the visit that little bit special.

Transport & Parking

The store is on Oxford Street so it is in one of London's busiest areas.

Access

There are plenty of lifts and they are all of the larger type so it's easy to wheel in with a powerchair and turn around if you want to. The lifts have audio announcements and buttons are clear and at wheelchair height. For the summer there is the added surprise of a roof garden with a coffee shop. Wheelchair access is via a different route. Staff on the main garden entrance arranged for a member of staff to take me via a dedicated route and lift to the gardens. Once in the garden it's easy to wheel around on the artificial grass, see the magnificent views of London and relax with a smoothie.

Toilets

Full marks for the accessible loos. I tried one by the cafe and it was fab! An automated door, touch sensitive controls, and plenty of space. What was a real surprise was the roof garden's accessible loo. I did expect there to be one! It was large, of the portacabin style, spotlessly clean and spacious. John Lewis really were being inclusive with their temporary anniversary garden.

Staff

Staff we're really good. They went out of their way with everything from giving directions, a guide to take us to the roof garden, and assistance throughout our visit.

If you're in the area it is well worth taking a look at the roof garden. You can do a bit of shopping while you're at it!
