Overview
I went to see Symphonic Metal Nights at the Ivory Blacks in Glasgow with my dad. Due to my Aspergers, I emailed the venue to see if there was any accessible access because I require early entry as I get anxious standing in a queue, it would also allow me to familiarise myself with the venue and find a space where I feel comfortable. They said that they could do that and all I had to do was talk to the security at the door. So, I went there about 30 minutes before the doors opened and there was no security at the door, so I had to wait in the queue, but it was not very long, although it was raining that day. At 7 pm the door opened, and I talked to the guy at the front checking people in, he was the owner of the venue and got taken to a table with my name on it but there were only stools at the table which were close to the ground, and I was told to watch the show on the TV above the table.
Transport & Parking
My dad parked in the NCP Glasgow Central Station which is a 1 minute walk away from the venue.
Access
There was not really an accessible access entrance you had to use the main door, but the doors did not look like a wheelchair could get through them.
Toilets
There was no disabled toilet, but the men’s toilet did not look very nice, and the hand dryer did not work.
Staff
The staff were okay.
