Overview
This viewpoint is about 4 miles North of Tarbet. It is a beautiful spot to park at and has good facilities. In high season it gets very busy.
Transport & Parking
There is a large car park with only 3 blue badge spaces but they have a very good view of the loch.
Access
There is a very small cafe doing takeaways. It has good level access and is close to the blue badge spaces. At the moment it serves only very light snacks such as coffee, cakes and rolls. The toilets are alongside, with a separate entrance. There is a good view from the car park. A wider view, however, can be seen from the top of a steep hill, reached by steps leading to a purpose built structure at the top. It is understandable that this is not accessible. There is also a path low down to the right of the visitor centre and it's a shame it is not a little wider and smoother to allow wheelchair use. Having said that, it's still worth visiting as less able can easily see the loch. There are many car parks around Loch Lomond, such as Luss and Balloch where this is not possible.
Toilets
The accessible toilet is reached by a very gentle slope from the car park. There is a very large entrance to all the toilets and the accessible toilet itself is one of the most spacious I have ever seen. I don't think there is a red cord but this is understandable as this is not a staffed facility.
Staff
Cafe staff very pleasant.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There are arrows on the ground to show which side to access and leave the toilet area. The cafe has cordons to allow a one way system. This visitor centre is part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. There is a very helpful area of their website which shows which visitor areas are open, have parking and have toilets. The car park is opposite the Loch Sloy Hydro Electric Power Station and there is a good view of the pipes running down from the dam.
