Overview
The centre is fantastic with lifts up to the second floor or disabled guests, many thinks are interactive displays and all the information was easy to read from my wheelchair. We did the indoor exhibits first before joining at our guide to explain all about the memorial and the memorial gardens . Our guide was very knowledgeable. The whole visit was very moving indeed. Access both inside and outside looking at the gardens and memorial was very good they had obviously put a lot of thought into making it accessible for all. There is also a lovely cafe onsite which served a variety of food both snacks. And meals hot and cold . Nd a good selection of cakes and drinks . We had a nice lunch before embarking on the tour,
Transport & Parking
The memorial is only a few minutes drive from the centre of Lincoln and has great views of the cathedral from the gardens . Parking was easy plenty of blue badge spaces and a drop off point , which we would have found easier to use as the car park is gravel so not easy in a wheelchair. But part from that once your off the gravel and onto the paths it’s really easy to get to the entrance which has level access
Access
Access was easy and st on one level to get in and then there are lifts to the second floor . Getting around the exhibits was easynplenty of space to move around in the wheelchair the restaurant was also spacious and plenty of room to get about and choose your food.
Toilets
Assume they had them but these were not used.
Staff
Staff were very helpful careers for free on production of a letter or proof of getting the allowance from dwp. The tour guide we had was very knowledgeable and n answered the questions we had.
