Overview

As the name suggests the hotel is situated on the prom it is about 9mins walk away from St Anne's pier the main reception and bar area is bright and airy and there is a range of different styles of seats in the bar and lounge area. There is one lift that covers all floors the lift can take a manual wheelchair and 3 or 4 people. this lift does not include the wheelchair access point to the hotel. There are 3 rooms with walk in showers available the lay out does make it difficult to navigate round some of the passageways of the hotel as they are narrow. A number of people commented that they found the rooms warm even with windows open.

Transport & Parking

There are 4 or 5 Blue Badge spaces available these are near to the wheelchair access point of the hotel The nearest public transport is about 10mins away buses to Blackpool Fleetwood etc.

Access

Access to the hotel is via a number of steps to a revolving door there are two other doors however theses were locked during our visit. There are then more steps in side the hotel to the reception and Bar area. The wheelchair access point is to the right hand side of the main door as you face it. This is up a ramp to a double door a wheelchair can pass through one door this door was open during our visit. As you enter the door there is a self operated wheelchair lift that takes you up to the main Reception and Bar area of the hotel. It was being well used during our visit.

Toilets

There was one wheelchair toilet available it was however difficult to find not good signage it is near the reception area. There is a large square area being used to display booklets about the hotel just off the reception area and the wheelchair toilet is in this area. There is a grip rail on the left hand side as you it on the toilet and there is room for a care giver to help if required

There was some very heavy rain during our visit that resulted in water entering a number of parts of the hotel including the reception and Bar area. We were made a aware of flooding problems in a number of rooms as well and of a very poor response time to water going through the roof and landing on the bed of a wheelchair user. Two hours from phone call to reception to someone going to see the problem. It was sorted out but the couple involved were not kept up to date.
