Overview

We visited Duxford on the hottest day of the year! The air conditioned hangers did not disappoint. Step free access everywhere one of our best wheel friendly days out this Summer.

Transport & Parking

Parking is just outside the main entrance with a short walk to the first hanger.

Access

Staff spoke directly to my son which is always a measure of their disability awareness. We liked the fact Duxford isn’t overly signed lifts are found with ease and lots of interactive displays in the Space hanger. There is a land train which has an accessible carriage we didn’t use it as they Day was just so hot but we would if we returned.

Toilets

We need the facilities of a Cp toilet so all other disabled loos were there but not checked by myself. I was surprised Duxford didn’t have a CP toilet - I really thought there would be one hiding somewhere! It just feels like they’ve thought of everything else! It’s only downside to a second visit I’m afraid.

Staff

Staff were really good we took regular breaks in all the eateries along the way and they were so helpful and just kind!
