Overview
Luxurious chocolate lounge with exhibition and shop in Grandtully. Good wheelchair access throughout and delicious chocolate treats!
Transport & Parking
The customer car park is unfortunately a loose stone surface, but there is on street parking right beside the entrance too. From the car park, there is a dropped kerb to a level access outside patio into the chocolate Lounge. From the street, there is a smooth, gentle stone path down to the door.
Access
There are two main entrances - one to the Chocolate Lounge and exhibition, and one to the Chocolatier's Shop. Both are level access entrances, and although the doors aren't automatic, they are lightweight. The whole Chocolate Lounge is level access with low seating, movable furniture and plenty of space between tables and chairs. It is quite dimly lit throughout however. As you enter there is a viewing window to where the chocolate is made and a wide archway into the lounge where a friendly member of staff greets you. If you want to then go on through to the shop, there is a short flight of stairs with a wheelchair lift - however if you would prefer not to us this lift, you can exit the Chocolate Lounge entrance and follow the path (at a gentle gradient) around to the second entrance which has level access into the shop.
Toilets
There is one toilet in the Chocolate Lounge and this is an accessible toilet. The door is a little tight to get in, but once inside it has grab rails and room to turn. There were two bins in here which was taking up a little more space than necessary. There are more toilets in the shop section of the building, but I do not know if any of these are accessible.
Staff
Couldn't be nicer! Very friendly, helpful and quick to bring you your food and drink.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Even though this is a chocolate shop, I recommend the cheese scone - it's served with an onion chutney and is the best cheese scone I've ever had!
