Overview
Absolutely stunning community garden centre - wide range of plants, accessories and everything you need for a garden. Live music today, lovely cafe (open at weekends) and cats! Lots of nice things for kids to do, eg arts and crafts, forest area and a pond full of frogs to explore. Beautiful, calm place with a gorgeous atmosphere. It’s recently had major building work, which has improved facilities and access, but kept its quirky vibes.
Transport & Parking
Accessible buses go past every few minutes Several accessible on street Disabled parking bays near entrance. Have walked down from Deansgate tram stop before - takes a long time but is do-able.
Access
Pretty good. Much better after recent renovations. Paths vary, and aren’t mega smooth, but we got round most of it with no issues and saw a couple of other people using scooters/manual chairs today also. Couple of areas a bit tricky, but possible with some determination! No ramp into plant pot shed
Toilets
Brand new toilet - they have done a good job on a limited budget and small site, but sadly it’s one of those standard ‘accessible’ loos which is not good for people who can’t transfer.
Staff
Very friendly and welcoming. This place has a lovely, totally inclusive atmosphere. A couple of people I spoke to were very keen to make sure everything was accessible.
