Overview
Howard Park is a small town park with a children's play area, paddling pool and kiosk cafe in the centre of Letchworth. It underwent a facelift 3 years ago and is now wheelchair friendly. There is a car park with path and ramp access to the play area, a kiosk with a low counter, and then paths/ramps down to the paddling pool. The paddling pool has no 'edge' which means it's easily accessible by parents & children. There is a disabled toilet in the park too.
Transport & Parking
There is car park adjacent to the park which makes it easy to get to the park. Level paths /ramps throughout.
Access
Level, well maintained paths through park, and down to the paddling pool/fountain area. Easy for anyone to access the pool itself as no 'kerb' - water is in gently sloping basin, making it easy for disabled parents (and disabled children) to use and play in. The cafe kiosk has a low counter too.
Toilets
There is a disabled toilet in this park in the same building as the cafe kiosk.
Staff
The cafe /kiosk is only open and staffed during summer months (early May to end September) . So limited feedback as not possible to quiz staff until later in the year. Park rangers maintain park year round and are helpful.
