Overview
Very wheelchair friendly quality hotel with spacious wheelchair facilities.
Transport & Parking
Quite simply get unloaded outside the entrance in what is a quiet street. The car park is approx 250 yards away around the back of the properties opposite the hotel.
Access
A salom through the 2 automatic doors gets you in front of the reception desk. A choice of 2 lifts got us to our room 133 on the first floor. The receptionist organised for our baggage to be brought upstairs with a member of staff entering the bedroom to explain how everything worked. She also explained the evacuation procedure using the refuge next to our room.
Toilets
Close to the restaurant and bar area is a well equipped disabled loo which was spotless. In our bedroom we had a wet room which was excellent. However for those who cannot weight bear and rotate to get onto the toilet the4e would be a challenge as a wheelchair cannot get alongside the toilet itself. The shower has a chair and grab handles so it worked well for me.
Staff
The reception staff were very good. In the restaurant and bar I felt that they could have been a little more attentive and customer orientated. Having had three meals there not once did they remove the plates after we finished eating nor offer to wash my personal eating utensils. Gotta drink from the bar meant my wife having to go to collect drinks at the bar even when the bat was quiet.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Breakfasts were excellent but I was disappointed with the menu for an evening meal. Given that the option exists of eating in the numerous restaurants in the city that would be my preference when we return. Over all the experience staying in the hotel was enjoyable and I would both recommend it and return in the future.
