Overview

A nice hotel, set in the historic Italian town of Riva del Garda. The hotel has modern decor throughout and the hotel staff are extremely helpful. Every effort has been made to try to ensure that this hotel is fully accessible , however due to the location and historic nature of the building some inconvenience could be caused in terms of getting to the hotel and getting around it.

Transport & Parking

The hotel is located on a very narrow pedestrianised area of Riva, this street does allow vehicle access for disability reasons, but however there is no parking close to the hotel. If you arrive by coach then you need to make your own way to the hotel which is approx 400m through the uneven streets of Riva del Garda (the staff from the hotel will meet you from the coach though)

Access

Once inside the hotel there is a small reception area on the ground floor and the restaurant which is up a few steps, they have however installed a ramp for access to this area. Getting from the rooms to the restaurant is where things get tricky - for instance, from the room we stayed in a wheelchair user would need to use 2 lifts, a stair lift and a ramp to get to the restaurant. However, it may be possible to get a room closer on the first floor which would only entail one lift and a ramp. Other than this there are stairs throughout all with handrails installed. The room we stayed in had a very small bathroom and using the toilet was tricky as it is so close to the shower, I cannot however speak for any of the other rooms. Noting these things is important, but also it is important to pay testament to the work that has been done to this old building in order to make it as accessible as possible and to mention that the staff at this hotel are particularly helpful.

Toilets

I did not witness an accessible loo, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't one considering the amount of work they have put in to make the hotel as accessible as possible.

Staff

The staff here are extremely friendly and can not do enough to help you what ever your need.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would visit again, however I would suggest purely based on location looking for hotels that are easier to access via vehicles if access is a concern.
